Horst Schulte is a professor in the School of Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Berlin (HTW Berlin). He is also the Chairman of the Federation of German Windpower and other Renewable Energies (FGW e.V.), an Associate Editor of the Journal a) IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems b) ISA Transactions, Co-Chair of the IEEE CIS Task Force on Fuzzy Systems in Renewable Energy and Smart Grid, Member of the IFAC Technical Committee 6.4 Fault Detection, Supervision & Safety of Techn. Processes.
Horst Schulte predominantly performs Control Theory and Signal Processing Research for Sustainable Power Systems covering its various aspects, including Control of Grid-forming Voltage Source Converters, Fast power control for Wind and PV power plants, Coordinated decentralized Protection, and Control of Distributed Power Systems, Innovative, Scalable design, and Control of Multi-rotor Wind Turbines with industrial and agriculture applications and Fuzzy logic based Explainable AI (xAi) for Decision and Control for complex systems like power systems.
He is the author of more than 206 scientific publications, including international journal papers, book chapters, patents, and conference papers. His h-index is 20. He has been invited as a guest researcher to Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne (by Kevin Guelton), Saint Petersburg State Institute of Information Technology, Mechanics, and Optics (by Gennady I.
