Simulation and control of chemical and biochemical processes (Code : 3ggav)

Organized by : Dr Nathalie DI MICELI RAIMONDI , University of Toulouse, LGC

Recent progresses in digital equipments and numerical methods have paved the way for digitalization of the chemical and the biochemical industry. To maintain their competitiveness, to cope with changes in the market, but also to move towards more sustainable and safe processes, it is essential for companies of these domains to modernize their industrial units. This session covers all research work aimed at the use of digital techniques for the design and improvement of chemical or biochemical processes. It includes recent works about process simulation, optimization and control at different scales, from unit operations to industrial ecosystems. This session also aims in the presentation of recent progresses in the development of advanced control tools, based on physico-chemical models or hybrid models inspired by machine learning-based modelling using data analytics.
